On Monday, October 31st, we will be celebrating Halloween with a Costume Parade and Halloween Room Celebrations. 

Costumes

Should your child choose to wear a costume, please adhere to the following guidelines:

• Children should bring their costumes to school and will put them on before the parade. Please make certain that your child can put his/her costume on, over the top of his/her clothes, by themselves within a relatively short time. 
• Ensure costumes are appropriate and not offensive to all ages at our school:
  • Weapons and ‘look alike’ weapons are prohibited
  • Refrain from costumes that depict violence (no fake blood or gore, please)
  • Be certain that your child can see through any mask or head covering
  • Keep make-up to a minimum (there is only a short time given to students to get into costumes, so save the best for trick-or-treating)

Parade

Weather permitting, our Halloween parade will take place at 1:00pm. We invite you to come and enjoy the outdoor parade and costumes as students walk around the school. Please note that the parking lot will be closed shortly before 1:00pm and remain closed until 1:45pm to ensure a safe parade environment. The front of the school may get crowded, so a few other great viewing areas are on the east/west side of the building and behind the building by the baseball field area. All parade spectators are asked to remain outside for the duration of the parade. Please see the parade route sent in Ms. Rizmani’s email on 10/14.

Classroom Celebrations

All Halloween room celebrations will begin immediately following the parade and end by 2:30PM.  If you are volunteering in a classroom, please sign in at the front office between 1:00-1:15PM. Only those people that are on the volunteer list in the main office will be allowed to help at the party. 

According to District procedures, there will be no food allowed at any of the classroom parties, so please do not send in any edible treats with your child.
