Five Dirksen Students Honored for Achievement in the Arts
This school year, five Dirksen Dolphins were honored at the regional level of the National PTA Reflections arts in education program. These Reflections awards recognize imagination, creativity and interpretation of the 2016-17 theme “What’s Your Story?”
From grade 2, Dhruthi S. was honored for her literary work titled “Role Model for Me”; Charlie B. was honored for his photograh titled “Blast of Light”; and Natalia T. was honored for her artwork titled “Space and Peace.”
From grade 3, Anuva J. was honored for her film titled “Go Cubs—My Life Story.”
And from grade 4, Isabelle V. was honored for her music composition titled “Friendship.”
The PTA, as well as the Dirksen staff, are proud of the accomplishments of these students, and all of the other Dolphins too, for their wonderful creativity and passion for the arts.
Founded in 1969, the National PTA Reflections program engages nearly 300,000 students and their families in arts education activities each year—encouraging students to explore the arts for fun and recognition. For more information about the program, visit PTA.org/Reflections.
